Update: Fix for VR controls being unresponsive, future plans

Hello friends!

Been a little bit since I've written an update post. Here's what's up.

A few people have mentioned in comments and in passing that their controls in VR become unresponsive when they boot up the program. Works fine in PC mode, but just in VR, it doesnt work. What's the deal? Well, I was contacted recently by someone with feedback. They have a fix, and I did some testing, and this seems to be what's going wrong with it. The problem is with your control bindings. It looks like, for some reason, the program's default bindings all reset in whichever VR program you're using, so unfortunately you need to go and bind them all back in manually for Spiralizer. Bit of a pain, yes, but here's how you do it.

For SteamVR: In the SteamVR overlay, go settings -> Controller Bindings -> select the program/thing that you wanna edit bindings for. Select Spiralizer from that list and you should be able to choose mappings for all the lil' buttons and things. You may need to do this while Spiralizer is open but I'm not sure at this point, it should remember what you've been playing and allow you to edit it from there.

If you dont see this option you may need to opt into the SteamVR beta, but considering that this advice is from 2018, everyone should have access to controller bindings now, so no problem.

Anything other than SteamVR should have a custom bindings setter thing, so if you're using something other than SteamVR, you know how to fix it, but might have to find your own way around setting your bindings up.

If anyone has any further problems not being able to edit controls, leave another comment with your issue.

Onto the future. I'm making a new version of this. I've found a better way to make spirals, and for things I want to add like sharing presets, importing own audio, etc, the system currently is just not ready for that. So over these few weekends I'll be doing just that. More effective, being able to share your things you make, and... More.

Keep your eyes peeled!

Hey! Not sure if this game is still receiving support, but I just wanted to say, I love the project!!

I am running on an HTC Vive and am facing this exact issue, however changing the controller bindings doesn't seem to fix anything. The "trigger" and "button" controller events don't seem to adjust anything at all.

Would it be possible to add keyboard/mouse support to the VR version, to help bypass this? Or, could you be more specific about which control types are required to get past the disclaimer screen?

Thank you so much!!
